Fey do not sleep. They instead must retire into the edge of the mists for several hours a day. Woodelves may perch in a tree or walk among the trunks, while a fairy may take refuge in a mushroom patch etc. A fey may always do this wherever they are. They are mostly invisible to mortal sight while in this state and are treated as hiding with an additional +4 bonus. A fey may only return early ('awake') from this state if they are summoned back by someone in #therealworld#. The fey need not be completely stationary during this time; they may perform any mundane, repetitive task. He may spend the time polishing his sword, singing, or even walking (or running if the terrain is good and clear!).
All fey may travel further into the mists at will, although the shifting of the mists - particularly with respect to #therealworld# - make this an uncertain venture at best.
Points: Get only half points to distribute among only spiritual stats. Then split the values as below.
Rolled: Roll spiritual stats using d6 for the plus die. This value is then distributed as the player wishes between the equivalent physical and mental stats. If the GM is allowing players to assign rolled values to stats as they choose this is done before the physical and mental stats are derived.
Fey Px is Sx-1, with additional -1 if Mx is lower than Sx.
Elves are roughly man-sized, though they tend to be more slender.
Other races consider elves to be of three types. The differences are entirely cultural and elves are, in reality, a single race. The three distinct branches of elven culture are:
Wild, or Wood-, Elves
These elves roam the beautiful wildernesses of #therealworld#. They tend to favour physical attributes over the mental and so tend to appear more muscular than their bretheren.
High Elves
These elves live in fabulous cities hidden from most mens view.
Mist Elves
These elves live in communities throughout the mists, venturing into #therealworld# as need or whim dictates. Ephemeral folk as a rule, some communities on the far edges of the mists are beset by demons from the void and have a more militant outlook.
Sea Elves
A notable subset of Mist Elves who travel the Grey Ocean in beautiful ships. Sea Elves believe the Mists to be the breath of the sea god and is the spray of the Grey Ocean, wherein is the land of the gods, which was set apart from the physical world. An island in a grey ocean, under the starless void. Fate rules here; As one approaches the isle begin replacing your d6 with d5+1, then d4+2, etc.
For long ages the elves wandered in the grey mists among wilful dreams. Until the coming of the light, in whose radiance they beheld the earth.
Includes pixies, sprites, leprechauns, etc.
When assigning physical and mental stats for faeries each mental stat must be higher than the equivalent physical stat, unless that physical stat is zero.
