This rune is used to shape a spell. It deals with shaping direction and area. A spell which seeks out it's target, or one which effects an area, would both take advantage of this rune.
While this rune may be used to shape an area, the effect will be spread out across the area; Multiply the number of runes required for the desired effect by the number of Shaping runes used to define the area of the effect.
To encompass a larger area, additional curve runes must be added, following the progression under the description of the Line rune, above.
Example: A dark cabal is fashioning a spell to cast a shadow over the entire city. The GM decides that the furthest reaches of the city are 'distant' from the cabal's lair, and the cabal wants to make sure even the towers of the wizard lords are encompassed in shadow, which they decide is 'long' (or, in this case, 'tall'). This means they need to include five Shaping runes in the spell. The cabal has decided that they will cause the shadow by destroying much of the light in the area; The DM rules that this will require Destruction and Energy runes, and that the intensity of the effect will be defined by the number of Destruction runes (as that is the object of the spell, the light (Energy) being the subject). Deciding that a two degree drop in the light level suits their purposes, the cabal require two destruction runes, multiplied by five for the number of Shaping runes, for a total of ten Destruction runes. The final spell will require 5 Shaping runes, 10 Destruction runes, and 1 Energy rune.

The third Greater Word. Refering to the primal energy which drives all things. This can also be used to enhance another rune, typically adding an additional damage die or similar. When used to evil purpose this is often known as the Chaos rune.
The fourth Greater Word. Often used in calming and subdual spells.
No-one knows why dragons have their own Word. Some theorise that all races have their own, but only that of dragons is known. Others take it as sign of the close relationship of dragons to the primal creator, even taking to worshipping them!

Obfuscation and the unreal. Each rune will affect a single sense, or other mode of perception.
This rune is used to bind an effect to an object or place.
A 'tag' rune may be researched by any wizard and used to prevent his inscribed spells being used by anyone who does not research the exact same rune. Some have theorised that a sorcerers personal rune could be exploited against them, but there has never been any proof.
Maybe add Spirit Rune?
Possible Life & Death? Replacing Energy/entropy or creation/destruction?
